Starting late last fall, I felt a compulsion to knit socks. The minute one was off the needles, I started another. There was no problem with Second Sock Syndrome, because I am a product knitter and I wanted the finished socks. You see, I had to catch up. I had to have hand knit socks, and I had to have enough. Did you see the picture (scroll down to third photo) Wendy posted with all of her pairs of socks? That’s what I was up against.
Now that Spring is here, that drive, that need, has dissipated. I can work on Anna’s cardigan again without looking longingly at my sock yarn collection. Don’t get me wrong, though. I still want to knit up another pair of socks, and I’m mentally planning my next pair, but it’s not a compulsion. And they may not be for me.
I think I might make my Mom a pair of socks. Maybe Roza’s socks. I have a couple skeins of Lorna’s Laces in the purple iris colorway that I think she’d love.
They’d probably be a gift for Christmas, so there’s no rush. I can continue working on Reid and have it done (hopefully!) before Anna outgrows it.
Your picture for today is my new car!
See the lawn mower in the corner? That summitch is going to be getting some use this weekend. Darn Spring.
